Although written in Spanish, this book deals with the representation of ethnic minorities and migrations in the cinema (mostly USA, but with a few European examples). It is divided up in two chapters: 'A perverse universe: minorities in the cinema' and 'Searching for Paradise: migrations in the cinema'. The first section offers brief commentaries on films like Birth of a Nation, To Kill a Mockingbird or Mississippi Burning. The second considers films like The Grapes of Wrath, My Beautiful Laundrette or La Haine.
