As a UCL Mellon Fellow Federica’s research topic of Migration and non-mother-tongue writing has a particular focus on issues of translation related to the Italophone immigrant writing that has emerged in recent decades.
Federica was born and educated in Italy. In 2000-01 she successfully studied for an MA in Translation Studies and Comparative Literature at the University of Essex. She returned to Italy to commence studies for her PhD in Literature at the University of Naples. and combined her doctoral research with work as a research assistant at the University of Palermo. She was awarded her PhD in 2007.
