I am a researcher working on questions of national identity and globalisation. My research examines a wide range of theoretical and practical questions regarding the increasingly transnational, and even, post-national, nature of contemporary cultural production and consumption. My primary focus is on Finnish and Nordic cinemas. I recently completed my doctoral project titled “The national and beyond: the globalisation of Finnish cinema in the films of Aki and Mika Kaurismäki”.
