A formidable line-up of filmmakers and media practioners at the conference on 12 - 13 January 2007

Preparations for the conference The Industrial Context of Migrant and Diasporic Cinema in Contemporary Europe are well under way and we are now taking conference bookings. We are delighted to announce the participation of internationally acclaimed filmmakers and leading experts from the industry. 

Already confirmed speakers include John Akomfrah, Abdelkrim Bahloul, Parminder Vir, Gareth Jones, Thierry Lenouvel, Eve Gabereau and Ralph Schwingel. The conference will be held at the Institute of Germanic and Romance Studies in central London on Saturday, 13 January 2007. It will be preceded by a film screenings of Abdelkrim Bahloul's most recent feature The Assassinated Sun and his earlier feature The Night of Destiny at the French Institute's Ciné Lumière on Friday, 12 January.
