Migrant and Diasporic Cinema in Contemporary Europe

Migrant and Diasporic Cinema in Contemporary Europe

Glossary:

Türkisch-deutsches Kino

Language: German

Turkish-German cinema

This term, which joins two national cinemas together, is the most commonly used reference to films made by Turkish migrant or diasporic filmmakers working in Germany. It is perhaps interesting to note that until a few years ago 'deutsch-türkisches Kino' was more commonly used. Corresponding hyphenated identity terms terms such as Black Asian or British Asian cinema are usually written without a hyphen nowadays.
