Beur is beautiful: A retrospective of Maghrebi-French Cinema
An international touring program of Maghrebi-French cinema, a flourishing trend that reflects upon the legacy of colonialism and the challenge of integration and assimilation that 'immigrant' populations face in France. The film programme as well as a launch conference, held in New York in November 2007, was curated by our Network member Carrie Tarr. The site showcases a number of recently released Maghrebi-French films. You can also find abstracts of the papers presented at the New York conference on this site.
